Senza Titolo
Senza Titolo - Performance by Romeo Castellucci.
Directed by Romeo Castellucci and staged at the Triennale di Milano, this durational performance unfolds within a stark white room, where time seems suspended. Over six hours each day, women with long hair, from all walks of life, enter the space one by one. Their only interaction is with a single metallic tube installed in the center of the room. With ritualistic slowness, they strike it with their wet hair, producing haunting, echoing sounds that ripple through the space like distant memory or subterranean grief.
The performance resists narrative, instead offering a meditation on presence, identity, and the quiet force of repetition. Each gesture becomes a sound, each sound a trace, an imprint of bodies, histories, and invisible labor. As the hours pass, the accumulation of these sonic acts builds a collective resonance, making the invisible palpable. Stripped of spectacle, it is an experience of stark beauty and deep listening.
